StayActive for Teams ("we", "us", "our") is a browser extension that keeps your Microsoft Teams web presence accurate while you work in other browser tabs and provides auto-mute safety during meetings. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Local settings (stored in your browser):

• Extension preferences: toggle states, mute delay, work hours, active days
• Cached subscription status (to reduce API calls)

This data never leaves your browser and is stored using the Chrome Storage API.

Subscription data (Pro users only):

• Email address (provided by you during checkout)
• Stripe subscription identifier
• Subscription status and expiry date

This data is collected only when you choose to upgrade to Pro. It is used solely to validate your subscription.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Teams messages, chats, or meeting content
• Files, contacts, or calendar data
• Browsing history or activity outside of Teams web pages
• Keystrokes, screenshots, or screen recordings
• Any personally identifiable information beyond what is listed above

3. How We Use Your Data

• Email and subscription ID: Used exclusively to verify your Pro subscription status against our backend
• Local settings: Used to configure the extension behavior in your browser

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's core functionality.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe — Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe collects payment information directly; we never see or store your card details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Microsoft Azure — Hosts our subscription validation API. No user content is processed or stored beyond subscription records.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Browser-side: All extension settings are stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API
• Server-side: Subscription records (email, subscription ID, status, expiry) are stored securely on Microsoft Azure with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)

6. Data Retention

• Local data: Persists until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data
• Subscription data: Retained while your subscription is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Clear all local extension data at any time (uninstall or clear browser storage)
• Request access to your stored subscription data
• Request deletion of your subscription records
• Cancel your Pro subscription at any time through Stripe

8. Permissions Explained

• storage — Saves your extension settings locally in your browser. Also caches Pro subscription status to reduce API calls.
• Host permission (our API domain) — Required only to validate Pro subscription status. No other data is sent.
• Content scripts on Teams domains — Required to interact with the Teams web page to maintain presence and detect/control the mute button during meetings.

9. Children's Privacy

StayActive for Teams is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
